Dear Marcia

Every week, renowned Bay Area wedding consultant and instructor, Marcia Coleman Joyner, answers your questions in her column, Dear Marcia. Submit a question or view recent columns.

Question : Dear Marcia, I'm having a small wedding and can only invite very close family and friends, can you give me some advice on how I can include co-workers/acquaintances without having to invite them to your actual wedding and not offend them? Sincerely, Brandy Griffin

Answer : DEAR BRANDY.

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR UP-COMING WEDDING!  Your co-workers/acquaintances will understand when you inform
them that you are planning an "intimate" celebration.  FYI: You are not obligated to invite co-workers
with whom you have no social connection, but rather a M-F, 9-5 relationship.

If the budget will allow, you might consider hosting a barbecue at your home or a park after the wedding
to celebrate with those who are not invited to the wedding.

I wish you all the best!

With warm regards,

Marcia
